Planning Documents

The planning documents below were instrumental in conceptualizing the New Lynnfield Public Library as it stands today.  The "2015 Building Program" document offers details on the issues with the current Library building and the benefits of a new Library, and the "2017 Design Concepts" show the design ideas that were given to the architects as part of their planning process.

2017 MBLC Grant Application

In 2017, the Town of Lynnfield applied for a Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) for a grant to fund the construction of a new Library.  The documents below were submitted to the MBLC in January of 2017, and served as the basis for the provisional grant of $8.1 million.

Since then, the MBLC awarded Lynnfield an extra $883,672 to the Lynnfield Public Library to off-set rising construction costs due to the COVID pandemic.  Visit our Costs & Impact page for a full breakdown of all costs related to the Library Building Project.

2001 MBLC Grant Application for Renovation

In 2001, the Town of Lynnfield applied for a Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) for a grant to renovate the existing Library Building.  The MBLC sent a letter of rejection for the grant, citing concerns with the building.

The documents below were included in the 2001 MBLC grant application, and the letter of rejection listing the MBLC's concerns with the building is also included for reference.
