New Layout

Our new library will be designed to inspire.  Ready for a deep dive into exploration of any subject, welcoming and ample space to gather community, transitional space to create and innovate, all while providing flexible and adaptive spaces that take full advantage of the beautiful Reedy Meadow views.

 

The layout of the new Library will include over 25,000 sq feet (almost double current library size) with better accessibility.  The current plans also include:

  • 70 dedicated off-street parking spots

  • Community Program and Meeting Rooms will be available outside of normal library hours for private and community events.

  • Expanded Children's and dedicated Teen areas - making Lynnfield's library a destination for children's programming within our town

  • The new library will feature a Makerspace / Creative Technology Lab which is a room that provides a place where people can gather to share resources and knowledge, work on projects, network, and build things.

  • An innovative educational center providing adaptive and transitional areas for collaborative learning, cultural events, individualized activities and interdisciplinary exploration. The flexible space will allow for the library space to be adaptable to daily/weekly programming changes and to future needs and technologies.
